Signs of the End Times

Islam has informed us about many events that will take place in the End Times (Ahir Zaman). Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) described major signs that will indicate the approach of the Day of Judgment (Qiyamah). Here are the most significant and major signs:

1. A Fire Emerging from Yemen

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

“The last sign of the Hour will be a fire that will emerge from Yemen, gathering people and driving them toward their place of assembly.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith No: 7118)

This fire will serve as a warning that the Day of Judgment is near and will compel people to make their final preparations.

2. The Beast of the Earth (Dabbat al-Ard)

Allah (SWT) says in the Qur’an:

“When the decree comes to pass against them, We shall bring forth for them a beast from the earth, which will speak to them because people did not have firm faith in Our signs.”
(Surah An-Naml 27:82)

Dabbat al-Ard will be an extraordinary being that will distinguish between believers and disbelievers and reveal the truth to humanity.

3. The Sun Rising from the West

One of the most definitive signs of the End Times is the sun rising from the west. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

“The Hour will not come until the sun rises from the west. When this happens, repentance will no longer be accepted.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith No: 4635)

This event symbolizes the closure of Allah’s mercy and that no one will be able to repent anymore.

4. Three Major Land Collapses

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) warned that three major landslides will occur before the Day of Judgment:

“Before the Hour comes, three great land collapses will take place: one in the east, one in the west, and one in the Arabian Peninsula.”
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith No: 2901)

These catastrophic events will demonstrate Allah’s power and signal the nearness of the final hour.

5. The Return of Prophet Isa (Jesus, AS) and the Arrival of Imam Mahdi

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

“Jesus, the son of Mary, will descend among you as a just ruler. He will break the cross, kill the swine, and abolish the jizya (tax on non-Muslims).”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith No: 3448)

Prophet Isa (AS) will return and, along with Imam Mahdi, will restore justice and peace in the world. He will also defeat the Antichrist (Dajjal).

6. The Antichrist (Dajjal) – The Greatest Trial

Dajjal will be one of the greatest tests for humanity in the End Times. He will deceive people with false miracles and claim to be a god. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) warned:

“Every prophet has warned their people about the trial of Dajjal. I am also warning you: He will be one-eyed, but your Lord is not one-eyed.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith No: 7131)

Only those with strong faith will be able to resist his deception.

7. The Smoke (Dukhan)

The Qur’an mentions that a great smoke will be one of the major signs of the Day of Judgment:

“Wait for the day when the sky will bring forth a visible smoke.”
(Surah Ad-Dukhan 44:10)

This smoke will cover the entire world, causing great fear and forcing people to turn back to Allah.

The signs of the End Times are warnings from Allah to humanity. They remind us that the door of repentance will not remain open forever, and we must turn to faith and righteousness before it is too late.
