Gog and Magog: The Great Trial of the End Times

Gog and Magog (Yajuj and Majuj) are mentioned in the Qur’an and the hadiths of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a major source of chaos in the End Times. They will be a great trial for humanity and will plunge the world into disorder before the Day of Judgment. This article explores who Gog and Magog are according to Islam, when they will appear, and their significance. Additionally, we will discuss a dream related to them, as seen by Muhammad Qasim bin Abdulkarim.

Who Are Gog and Magog?

Gog and Magog are two great nations mentioned in Islamic scriptures. Allah (SWT) describes them as having immense power and vast numbers. The Qur’an refers to them in the story of Dhul-Qarnayn in Surah Al-Kahf:

“They said: ’O Dhul-Qarnayn! Indeed, Gog and Magog are spreading corruption in the land. Shall we offer you a tribute so that you build a barrier between us and them?’”
(Surah Al-Kahf 18:94)

With Allah’s help, Dhul-Qarnayn built a mighty barrier to prevent Gog and Magog from wreaking havoc on the earth. This barrier has restrained them for centuries, but in the End Times, it will collapse, allowing them to spread across the world and cause massive destruction.

The Role of Gog and Magog in the End Times

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) foretold that Gog and Magog would emerge near the end of time. They will consume the world’s resources, spread destruction, and cause great tribulations. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Gog and Magog will break through (the barrier) and rush down from every high place. The first wave will drink all the water of the Sea of Galilee, and when the next wave arrives, they will say: ‘There used to be water here.’”
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith No: 2937)

Their sheer numbers will overwhelm humanity, leaving people powerless against their destruction. In response, Prophet Isa (Jesus, AS) and the believers will seek Allah’s help through prayer. Allah will then destroy Gog and Magog in a miraculous way:

“Allah will send a type of worm that will attack their necks, and they will perish instantly.”
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith No: 2937)

Muhammad Qasim’s Dream About Gog and Magog

Muhammad Qasim bin Abdulkarim is known for having dreams about End Times events. In one of his visions, he saw the reemergence of Gog and Magog and how they spread chaos and terror across the world.

In his dream, Gog and Magog were so numerous and destructive that humanity was left defenseless. However, the dream also showed that believers were not alone—Allah’s divine intervention ultimately put an end to their chaos. This vision serves as a reminder that faith and reliance on Allah are the key to overcoming such tribulations.

How to Protect Ourselves from Gog and Magog?

Although Gog and Magog are a terrifying trial, Islam teaches us not to be afraid, but rather to strengthen our connection with Allah. Here are some ways to seek protection from their trials:
        1.      Holding Fast to the Qur’an
        •       Surah Al-Kahf should be recited regularly, as it strengthens faith and reminds us of Allah’s power.
        2.      Making Du’a (Supplication)
        •       The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught a special prayer for protection from Gog and Magog:
“O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the trials of Gog and Magog.”
        3.      Remaining Steadfast in Faith
        •       The trial of Gog and Magog is not just a physical threat but also a test of faith. Staying firm in prayer, remembrance of Allah, and good deeds will help believers remain steadfast.

Conclusion

Gog and Magog will be one of the greatest trials in the End Times. According to the Qur’an and hadiths, they will spread chaos and destruction, but in the end, Allah will destroy them. The dream of Muhammad Qasim serves as a reminder of this event’s significance and that Allah always protects the believers.

The best way to prepare for this tribulation is to strengthen our faith, recite the Qur’an, and follow the guidance of the Prophet (PBUH).

May Allah (SWT) protect us from all trials and keep our faith strong. Ameen.
